BIOSIM Laboratory organises the 4th International Conference on Mobile and Wireless Communications and Healthcare

The 4th International Conference on Mobile and Wireless Communications and Healthcare (Mobihealth 2014) is organized by the Biomedical Simulations and Imaging Laboratory (BioSim), in co-operation with the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI), the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), the University of Chicago, the Wright State University, the Imperial College London, the University of Ioannina and the Queen’s Mary University of London. The conference will take place in Athens, November 3-5 2014. The objectives of the conference are to advance medical diagnosis, treatment, and patient care through application of wireless communications, mobile computing and sensing technologies. Mobihealth 2014 is endorsed by the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and is technically co-sponsored by IEEE AP and EMB Societies.

Within the framework of the conference, keynote lectures will be delivered by Andreas Lymberis, European Commission, Research program officer in Components Unit, Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, Richard Kemkers, Philips Research Eindhoven, Head of the Department "Patient Care Solutions", and Gisele Roesems-Kerremans, Deputy Head of (ICT for) Health and Wellbeing unit within DG CONNECT, the Communications Networks, Content and Technology Directorate General of the European Commission.

Furthermore, a Satellite Event will take place aiming at capturing research, development and innovation activity at EU level in technologies and services related to m-health, wireless medical devices, ageing well in the information society, health care telemetry and telemedicine. The event will comprise presentations of on-going or recently completed EU research projects in an attempt to summarize success stories and best practice examples of the use of mobile and wireless communication technologies toward improving health outcomes and to provide an interactive forum for exploring synergies and discussing exploitation opportunities.

The previous Mobihealth conference was held in Paris in 2012 and Mobihealth 2015 will be held in London.
